How Do I Install My Pump?

If you can safely handle the total weight of your submersible pump kit, you will likely be able to install it yourself. Our submersible and solar-powered pump kits are pre-wired in our workshop, so you shouldn’t require an electrician on site to help you install these kits. However, more complex, 415v mains powered and high voltage solar will require the services of a licensed electrician.

● A submersible rated cable spliced to the short lead from the drive motor
● A pump starter box
● A rising main (the pipe/hose attached to the pump discharge) to get the pumped water to ground level
● A bore cap
● A power supply

How Are the Pumps Powered?

If you have access to mains power, this is generally the best option for your pump system. However, if mains power is not available, a generator or solar power will be required to operate your submersible pump.

The Crusader Flexibore is a lay flat style of flexible hose that is designed for the installation of submersible pumps. It is rated to safely accommodate the weight of the pumping assembly, plus the added weight of the flexible hose full of water. What Is the Yield of My Water Bore?

The yield of the water bore is the measured extraction rate of water from the water bore. The yield is usually estimated by the well driller during the final stages of the drilling, casing and development of the water bore.

Sometimes, a pump test is required for irrigation or town water supply water bores prior to the final selection of the pump. Our pumps are always sized to ensure that they can not pump at a greater rate than the bore yield.

What Is the Difference Between Standing Water Level and Pumping Water Level?

The standing water level or SWL refers to the measured distance in metres from ground level to the level of the top of the water within the borehole.

The pumping water level is the measurement of the water level from ground level while the pump is running. As long as the pumping rate is less than the actual yield of the water bore, the pumping water level will remain above the installed depth of the submersible pump.
