Why we assist with pump selection-
Correct pump selection considers the complete pumping system, including:
  • required flow rate;
  • total pumping head;
  • standing water level;
  • dynamic pumping water level;
  • bore recovery rate;
  • pump installation depth;
  • bore casing diameter;
  • pipe size and length;
  • elevation after the bore;
  • required outlet pressure;

Two bores of the same depth can require very different pumps.
Selecting based on bore depth alone can result in insufficient flow, excessive pressure, poor efficiency, rapid cycling, motor damage, or a pump that cannot operate within the bore's sustainable output.

1. Tell us about the application-
Provide the bore details, required flow, pipework, elevation, power supply and intended use.
If some information is unavailable, contact us and we will help identify what is required.
2. We select the equipment-
We calculate the pumping duty and select a suitable pump, motor, cable, controls, protection and rising-main components.
Where appropriate, we can provide performance information showing the expected pump duty.
3. We provide a written quotation-
Your quotation will clearly identify the selected equipment, included components, current pricing, GST, freight and any relevant exclusions or installation requirements.
4. Your system is prepared for dispatch-
Where requested, pump sets can be assembled with the motor, motor lead and correctly sized submersible cable joined and electrically tested before dispatch.
Equipment can be supplied Australia-wide.

Solar water-pumping systems-
Solar pump systems are selected according to the required daily water volume, total pumping head, available solar energy, seasonal demand, bore yield and storage arrangements.
Systems can include the pump, permanent-magnet motor, controller, water-level protection, solar array, panel mounting structure, isolators, cable and control accessories.

Pump motors and replacement pump equipment-
We supply replacement submersible motors and can help confirm compatibility with an existing pump end, cable, control box, starter or variable-frequency drive.
Motor selection must consider:
  • motor power;
  • voltage;
  • phase;
  • frequency;
  • full-load current;
  • two-wire or three-wire configuration;
  • motor connection standard;
  • control requirements; and
  • cable length.

Correct protection can prevent damage caused by dry running, overload, low or high voltage, phase loss, excessive starts and other abnormal operating conditions.

Submersible pump cable-
Submersible cable must be suitable for continuous immersion and correctly sized for the motor current, supply voltage and total cable length.
Undersized cable causes excessive voltage drop and can reduce motor performance, cause nuisance tripping, increase current and shorten motor life.

Rising main and Flexibore-
The rising main must be suitable for the pump flow, pressure, installation depth, water quality and suspended load.

Replacing an existing pump-
Do not select a replacement solely from the motor power or the model number of an old pump.
Before recommending a replacement, we may ask for:
  • the complete pump and motor model numbers;
  • bore depth and casing diameter;
  • pump installation depth;
  • standing and pumping water levels;
  • existing pipe and cable sizes;
  • measured flow and pressure;
  • supply voltage and phase;
  • the reason the original pump is being replaced; and
  • photographs of the pump, bore head and controls.
This allows us to determine whether a direct replacement is appropriate or whether the original installation should be corrected or improved.
